The Miegunyah Press is the dedicated illustrated imprint of Melbourne University Publishing, known for lavishly designed and produced books at affordable prices. EVERFRESH STUDIO
The group known as Everfresh—artists Sync, Phibs, Reka, Rone, Wonderlust, Prizm, Meggs, Makatron and The Tooth—create works which fuse intense colour, intricate line work, iconic characters and visual narratives, using the most diverse street art and graffiti techniques. The Everfresh crew are the key players that continue to shape Melbourne’s dynamic and prolific street-art scene.
Everfresh Studio is an explosive hub of creation and activity, inconspicuously located in Melbourne’s inner-city suburb of Collingwood. Behind an unmarked factory door, Everfresh artists conceive, develop and collaborate to produce their now internationally renowned work for the streets, as well as fine art for exhibition in galleries and to furnish the art market’s growing appetite for street art.
PS: you should check out what is not in the book- a collection of photos that unfortunately didn’t make the cut

We are very happy to announce that we have signed a deal with Miegunyah press to publish the Everfresh blackbook. Due out mid to late 2010, it will comprise 240 pages of photos and artwork from all the Everfresh artists, most of which has previously been unpublished and not posted on the internet.
Everfresh Studio, one of Australia’s most influential street art collectives, presents the first true insight into the country’s street art culture: The Everfresh Blackbook.
More than just a collection of finished artworks, The Blackbook offers an exclusive inside look at an underground culture, featuring never-before-seen images of some of the best known Australian street artists at work. This influential Melbourne-based studio has played a major part in driving the rise of street art in Australia. Everfresh counts among its members some of most respected, innovative and widely recognised underground artists in this country: Phibs, Sync, Rone, Meggs, Reka, Wonderlust, Prism, Makatron, and The Tooth.
Everfresh Studio has been at the forefront of the explosion in popularity of street art in Australia. The Everfresh Blackbook will give readers a unique insider’s view into a thriving underground art world: one that is normally characterised by anonymity.
The Everfresh Blackbook will present street art from the inside out. Rather than acting as a catalogue for Australia’s vast urban art gallery, the Blackbook will give readers an insight into one street art collective’s simultaneously public and private life. The book will reveal everything from the tools, materials and working processes involved in creating different forms of street art, to the often adrenaline-fuelled nature of creating works in public places. The Everfresh Blackbook will give readers a behind-the- scenes view of that most public of art forms: graffiti.
This Saturday after the screening of Melbourne Ink at ACMI will be the Launch of Kings Way

See you there

A while back I uploaded info about Melbourne’s greatest graff book (to date) which is about to launch, ‘Kings Way.’ A blog has just been created by its author. For people who dont know, Kings Way focus’s on the beginnings of Melbourne Graffiti 1983-1993. Expect mad oldschool steel, rocked-out denim and shots of the lifestyle of that era. The blog has got a couple of layouts and sneak peaks of whats expected. You can even pre-order your copy, with 2 limited edition covers to select from too… Im already loosing sleep, waiting for this bad boy to drop. Peep> KINGSWAY
If you havn’t heard about this book you’ve been sleeping. This book has been in the works for nearly a decade now.
Purely Melbourne Graffiti from ‘83 - ‘93 (the Beginnings of Australian Graffiti). A must for any Melbourne graffiti head.
Without a doubt, Kings Way will be the benchmark for all Australian Graffiti related books to come.
The book isn’t out on shelves yet, but the pre-publication can been viewed here

Just picked up the new book out form Melbourne Uni Press - Uncommissioned Art.

Worth checking out for the wealth of old Melbourne shots from the 80’s and the section on Merda.
